Helps save energy by reducing the requirement for artificial lighting and cooling in any new or existing building. Window treatments resembling mini-blinds redirect sunlight from overhead windows onto the ceiling and 15' into the space for each vertical foot of LightLouver unit that is applied - up to 60' away from the window wall. Areas of the building that would otherwise be dependent on electric lighting are provided with an ambient and glare-free source of natural light. The specialized geometry of the reflective slats is such that LightLouver units will accept sunlight from any solar altitude angle and redirect it between 0 and 15 degrees upward. Since no light ever exits the system at a downward angle, full solar control is achieved and there is no possibility of uncomfortable solar glare on work surfaces. Because there is always less heat associated with sunlight than electric light, the LightLouver system helps reduce cooling loads as well by supplementing electric light with natural daylight.
