Manatee County, FL – Working with the Manatee County (FL) Habitat For Humanity Chapter who is assisting their first US Veteran to have a home for his family, Magnaray donated several low wattage security lights that provides all night security lighting, and one I.D.-A-Light, lighted house number.
The lighted house number helps First Responders (police, fire, or EMTs) in locating and confirming a home’s address more quickly, which can save precious lifesaving seconds or minutes in any emergency. The unit consumes only 6 watts of energy and is operated along with all the other 13 watt security lights by a single photocell to turn on automatically at night, as well as turn off around sunrise. The entire monthly electric cost for all outdoor lighting is less than $2.60 (local utility rate of $.09/kWh).
Magnaray has been providing security and lighted home identifier (I.D.-A-Lights) to Manatee Habitat (and other Florida Habitat Chapters) homes for over 7 years. The new home owners really love the amount and quality of light the Magnaray units produce, and love the low energy cost. The units are bug and dirt proof, and require little maintenance. This home is LEED certified by USGBA.
Bruce Winter, Construction Director of Manatee Habitat appreciates the quality and reliability of the Magnaray lighting equipment, and continues to request the lights for every project. Larry Leetzow is a US Navy Viet Nam Veteran, and part owner of Magnaray International who enjoys paying it forward to all Florida chapters who have accepted their offer.
Manatee Habitat has built 122 homes since their beginning in 1994 according to Diana Shoemaker, Executive Director. Florida Habitat chapters have built 15,000 homes, while the national count stands at 6.8 million since 1976. A new program called Neighborhood Revitalization assists the elderly, veterans, and disabled in making repairs to existing homes, and getting more of the community
