Prudential Lighting is pleased to introduce Ergo, a sleek and minimal LED wall sconce designed to solve a couple of problems in the healthcare market.
Medical facilities have traditionally been cold, sterile environments. Recent interest in designing more inviting, healing environments has led to the addition of warm, more residential or hospitality-style lighting. An obstacle to using these fixtures is medical equipment (ie. IV poles) and sconces protruding from walls don’t mix well.
In January 2012, California’s OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) code 1003.3.3.1 changed so that “fixtures shall not project horizontally more than 1.5˝ (38 mm) into the required width of an exit access corridor.”
Thus, Ergo was designed with a slim 1.5˝ projection to meet OSHPD’s building code with charm and character. Available in round and rounded square designs, the tempered glass fascia is frosted with a concentric circle pattern to enhance any environment and is ideal for hospitality, retail and medical facilities. And, of course, it’s LED for longer life and reduced energy usage.
